Which Skin Care Brand is the best: Clearasil, Neutrogena or Clean and Clear?

I’m African American my skin is Combination/T-zone. I hardly ever get pimples anymore just the ocassional breakout or two every month. I’ve been using AMBI for about 6 months now and it’s no good. What’s a good Skin Care Brand to try that’s over the counter.

I am looking to start a comprehensive skin care regimen. I know I should wear daily sunscreen and also?

exfoliate daily with either alpha-hydroxy cream, or a facial scrub. I have been using a cream called Pentaxyl which is supposed to treat fine lines and wrinkles. But I am skeptical of anything that is not FDA-approved. Too many snake oil salesmen.
I heard of some prescription cream called Renova or Retin-A. What is the difference between these two? Is there anything else that i should know about how to take care of my skin?

Should I switch from ProActiv to Burts Bee’s All natural skin care products?

Filed under: Natural Skin Care — Tags: — @ 4:48 am

I am trying to decide if I should switch or not?? My skin just seems dried out and I am starting to break out again. Proactiv was the only thing that would work for me for the past year, after years of searching. I have mild acne.

So what do you think?

What is that “ashy” skin condition I get in the winter?

My complexion is flawless for a great deal of the year, but come late fall early winter, patches of melanin start falling off of my left arm, just like a sunburn but I know it’s not a sunburn. The patches on my arm are dusty white which contrast with my normally chocolate complexion. It ain’t pretty. I won’t be caught dead in anything other than long sleeves that time of year. But once spring roles around, the spots disappear. The only skin condition I could research that sort of fits my description is vitiligo, but vitiligo is chronic and happens all over the body, doesn’t it? My condition only occurs at a specific time of the year and on a random spot of my body. I don’t think it’s anything serious, but I’m still curious. What gives?
Thanks The Racist, I’ll look into that. Your answer was really relevant and made an incredible amount of sense too.
Dry winter skin? That’s actual scientific terminology for the condition I have?

In what degrees do you approve this fact ?

Girls in their teenage years aspire to become as beautiful as possible trying to match up to the Ideal beauty queen in their mind. From where do they derive these ideals ? Ofcourse, they pick the vibes sent out by young men. We all know that beauty is Relative. Any woman who aspires to become beautiful does so to gain corresponding attention in return. What these young people often fail to remember is that of all the aspects of their personality, the skin would be the first one to show up signs of ageing. Thus, if being intellectualy sound was the idea of gaining attention in the teenage years, such efforts would reap long benefits as slowly that habbit of being intellectualy sound would become part of the person’s character without his or her knowing about it consciously. Thus, all these activities that a person often does in his or her teenage years be it attracting the opposite sex, flirting, trying to look good, taking care of other aspects of grooming all centre around the idea of becoming desireable. Now if we go further into the idea of becoming desireable, it really deserves to be done by a person who has a giver in himself or herself. The logic is simple and that is "Why would a company for example, market or advertise any product which is not going to be beneficial to its customers anyway?". In the same manner, why should a person engage himself or herself to attract any person of opposite sex for a girlfriend or boyfriend if he or she is not going to be commited or loyal to the person whose attention is being sort ? Thus, in the teenage years people are only marketing themselves to find the right life partner but then as they grow into mature adults, they should nourish the same relationship with commitment, loyalty, honesty and sincerity. That would make the whole process more romantic than simply flipping the pages of books giving you tips on flirting or attracting opposite sex without any intention of commitment at the back of the mind. What are your views on this ?
