I think that you have to ask yourself WHY it feels good for young women to put on makeup and nice clothes. The answer for many young women is that they feel better because they feel that they are getting closer to the standard of beauty that is dictated by music videos, advertisements, television shows and design companies. Women have become brainwashed into thinking that these things make them feel better, in reality these items (make-up etc.) make them feel worse. Women are no longer comfortable with their natural appearances. They feel better in make-up and designer clothes because that is what they've been told. Sadly the fashion industry is an expert on who to target for this addiction, and young women are the victims.

Now, the product of all of this brainwashing is a focus on material objects instead of intellectual or emotional pursuits. These girls who become obsessed with appearance rarely develop other aspects of their personality. These girls rarely make good partners.

Again, we come back to the gashion industry, if your main hobby is shopping and glamour -- you will inevitably be reading a lot of magazines. Magazine/fashion companies lure women in to the culture and the culture and tell them how to dress, act, speak, etc. People in general rely too much on the advice and opinions of others, but ESPECIALLY young women.

I believe it is the job of mothers and fathers to educate their children on what really matters. Mothers who spend hundreds at the salon, fathers who allow their daughters to buy designer clothes, parents who don't promote academics and community service, are all contributing to this epidemic of shallowness. Parents must teach their children balance! Looking good and being healthy are important, but so is character development.

When girls look pretty it's fun to go somewhere and watch all the guys stare at us and stuff. It's like a ego booster for us. Guys have the size of their package for boosters and we have our looks. But I really don't do it to attract the opposite sex I like to look pretty for my self because I feel better about myself when I am all fancy and wear make-up.

When there is too much choice. Then it's hard to choose. And this is true for choosing partners too.

The way you suggest is the way it works in small communities of rural villagers. When the group of people is small. And they don't have many partners to choose from. Then they tend to choose the best partner they can and stay with their choice for the rest of their lives.

But in big cities there are so many potential partners to choose from that many people have a lot of trouble deciding which partner is best for them. And when people can't decide. Then they go from one partner to another and try them all out just to see if the next one will be better than the previous one was.

Perhaps the problem is that for most of their history people have lived in small communities. And they haven't yet learned how to live well in big cities.
