How do I cure my dogs very dry skin?

My shitzu is 9 and all over his body he is flaky with dry skin. He has always had dry skin, but as he getts older his skin getts worse. He has a great diet, I wash him with a special oatmeal shampoo 2/3 times a month, and I give him treats a couple times a day. Nothing seems to help. When I do a search to find a a cure the resultes are expensive pills. Without having to take him to a vet, what can I do to cure or help his dry skin?

What natural items can I give my dog to help with dry skin?

My Pit Bull has dry skin and is itching all the time. He does not have fleas but he does have dandruff… What can I feed him that will help with the dry skin. I have special shampoo for dry skin but I do not know how well it works considering that everytime he gets a bath it drys out his skin even more. Any vitamins or foods you guys could recommend would be great!

Thanks.
Okay… My dog eats Nutro Max Beef and Rice dog food. It is all natural and is a high quality food. His mother has skin problems and that is why I want to nip this in the butt before it becomes a huge problem.

What are some home recipes for hair conditioning or skin care?

I need any home remedies or recipes for improving hair/skin care without buying name brand or store products. Just stuff you can use around the house. Like I heard egg and mayonaise to leave in your hair for and hour and rinse but with shampoo?? And do you style it normally or wait? Clear instructions would also help.

Skin care for a mature woman?

I am 51 yrs old now and I finally have both the time and money to start taking care of my skin and body. I worked outside the majority of my life and I am blessed with skin that tans easily.

So my question is this….Now that I have acquired some "skin regenerative" type body washes, an exfoliating body wash, a sea sponge, and a back brush, as well as some regenerative body lotions, what happens to the "deodorant" aspect of my good old Irish Spring? I notice if I just use the body washes I tend to get B.O. before a few hours go by, usually halfway through my work day.

Should I use the Irish Spring first then use one or both of the body washes? Does anyone out there really was with three (or more) products every time they take a shower?

I know this seems like a silly question for a woman my age to ask, but for years I was only concerned with the bare minimum in grooming due to financial and time constraints and I never learned "girly" stuff from my mother (she thought dial soap, cheap shampoo, and red lipstick was adequate grooming).

Can someone help me?

Natural Skin Care Vs. Chemical Skin Care?

Lately I have been trying to go organic in every aspect of my life. So far I have been buying organic foods, laundry detergent. ect. But now i want to try skin care. I was wondering if the organic products really do what they say they do. if i do it i wanna go all out tooth paste shampoo, the whole nine. I was just wonder if it really makes a big difference in your skin when you get rid of the chemical products. thanks
