No matter what soap I use, what moisturizer I use, or how hard/soft I wash my face, I always have dry skin on my face. When I wash it, it goes away for a hour at the most. What can I do to get rid of dry skin on my face? Any tips? Thanks.

Try Cocoa Butter lotion. (Palmer’s is great.) It might take more than one day for it to work.

Moisturize 2-3 times a day. Stay far away from chlorine, and right when it gets dry, moisturize again, it may take a while but it will go away

are you really using soap on your face? or do you mean a clenser? because if your using soap, thats a really bad thing to do! don’t use soap lol.

At night time you can put vaseline on your face. It works for me and it also makes my skin very soft. I even use it on my legs and feet because it keeps them moisturized and soft because lotion doesn’t always do the trick.

I think you should stop using all different types of products on your skin. Try just washing your face with dove unscented sensitive only.

First of all, the time your body rejuvenates is when you sleep. So, use a cleanser for sensitive skin before you go to bed. I really like those little pre-moistened towelettes. Then, use a moisturizer before you go to bed. Do this every night without fail. It’s really healthy for your skin.
If you’re prone to breakout but still have dry skin too, like me, then go for Clean and Clear’s acne moisturizer. It’s in a grey bottle with a purple pump. It moisturizes really well, but it prevents breakouts. I use it every night. I also try to exfoliate a couple times a week. However, do that in the morning and make sure and moisturize after wards.
Good luck

I recommend when you get out of the shower everyday to wash your face with a facial cleanser not soap and after cleansing use an astringent and then moisturize with a facial moisturizer apply the moisturizer with a makeup sponge and apply the astringent with a piece of cotton if using these application methods you won’t have dirt and oil coming form your hands I do this process myself and i very rarely ever get acne and my face fells great Hope it helps

i work in dermatology – there are lots and lots of people with this problem so you are not alone.
first you need to make sure your cleanser is not too harsh. if you have dry skin you need a soap free cleanser that you can tissue off instead of wash off with water which drys the skin. (i recommend Cetaphil) then use a good moisturizer on top of that (has to say NON-COMEDOGENIC other wise you could get clogged pores!!!) i love CeraVe lotion… on top of that apply a daily moisturizer with sunscreen every morning. I recommend Aveeno soy complex spf 30. the sun strips the skin of moisture and causes wrinkles to boot!
if all else fails see a dermatologist who can work out a plan for your exact skin. maybe you need something stronger- or you could have a mild underlying skin condition.
hope that helps
