I’m part white part black I have light brown skin and straight black hair. You could only tell if I was mixed because of my skin color. My black friends always wanna touch my hair. It’s so damn annoying. Every damn day some black chick comes up to me and feels my hair. I think it’s really annoying. None of the other people of other races care. But it’s always the black people why? Well I’m part black so what the hell. But I’m mulatto not white or black.

Obviously, if you had kinkier hair that blacks are known to have (not all, btw) then you’d notice that more whites tend to want to touch it and ask questions about it and say how they wish their hair could do the things mine does. Does that mean all whites care too much about hair? Stop being so damn ignorant, and who gives hoot what "color" you are.
And, apparently, you don’t hang around Yahoo Answers much because you’ll see that white girls care a lot about hair care too. Stop being so flippin’ foolish.
And, no, I actually don’t find it annoying when people want to touch my hair, but do you think you’re the only one with that problem? People sometimes find things more interesting when it’s completely different than what they have. And, I love my hair too much to want straight, limp, and boring hair. *YAWN* The only hair I feel compelled to touch are the cute, fluffy afros or big puffs.
Really, get over yourself, you’ve spent more time trying to define your race than asking the question – and I still think you’re confused.

Maybe they think it’s pretty. I’m black and my hair is really hard to straighten because it’s really long and thick, so when I see someone with nice hair I usually compliment it. Though I do agree with you that it is annoying when people touch my hair (because it happens a lot) I just deal with it because I know that they’re only being nice.

let’s be clear, not all african american hair is short.
mine is down my back
your hair is probably soft and silky, and they like the way it feels, just a guess.
or maybe they think you’re hot.
who knows ?
ask them to stop it.

I TOTALLY FEEL YOU. I’m black also. I’m only just a little native american (not much). I have long soft brown hair too. All my black friends and cousins feel like they have to touch it all the time! like damn! stop it! They always ask "can I do your hair?" all the time! so i get what you mean.

I’m black and i have soft and long hair and almost everyone (regardless of race) wants to touch it. Most of the people who touch my hair just say it’s pretty and then stoke it like i’m some kind of furry pet
